Falling Love (June 25 - September 9)

Falling love deals with the aesthetics of weapons as objects. Boris classifies them as "toys for grownups" and confines the works in massive cages in an attempt to inhibit the "play ground" in clear cut boundaries.

Boris' work is characterized by its wild use of glass using rugged finishes and rough transitions between placid and brutal, organic and industrial.

Anton Chekhov once said: “If you say in the first chapter that there is a rifle hanging on the wall, in the second or third chapter it absolutely must go off.”
It is not people who operate weapons, but weapon is forcing people to use it.

The gruesome and violent aesthetics of these weapons take on a different role using glass and light: smooth and cold, sharpened and severed.

9 light fixtures/sculptures mixing pacifism with militarism, bind together a reality of the 21st century.
